Day 1.  Terelj National Park

Terelj National Park is recognized as a part of the huge Khan Khentii reserve and was established as a Strictly Protected Area in 1992. The park’s most spectacular features are its huge granite  blocks and cliffs as well as meadows rich in wild flowers.Terelj offers fascinating rock formations against a background of pine covered mountains. The average elevation is about 1600m,with peaks reaching 2900m. It is a wonderful hiking and horseback riding area.  



Day 2.  White stupa and Tsagaan Suvarga


Tsagaan suvarga is a seabed (60m high 400m wide) made of colorful limestone rocks in Ulziit sum, a local administration unit of Middle Gobi province. It is shaped uniquely because of natural erosion caused by water and wind. They named it White Stupa as from the east, the unique shape of the limestone rocks looked alike Buddhist white stupas. Activities: walking around this area for an hour or two. Overnight in ger.




Day 3.  Yolyn Am . Dalanzadgad town.

Yolyn Am, the valley begins from Zuun Saikhan Mountain, a branch of the Gurvan Saikhan mountain system, and stretches over 10 km. It is completely shaded from the sun in some parts by high cliff walls. The valley  is famous for the fact that there is ice present there even during the hot summer months. The beauty of the valley, combined with the sound of vultures (Yol means vulture, in Mongolian) creates an atmosphere of awe and wonder. Trekking through the gorge. Stay overnight in a ger.




Day 4.  Sand dunes Khongor  / Camel riding /

Today we will enjoy some travel activities of Gobi desert.
After breakfast time, we will drive towards Khongor sand dunes that extend along the northern side of Sevrei and Zoolun mountain ranges. After lunch time, we will ride camels. The two-humped camels are very comfortable to ride, as they walk slowly and gently and we will be well supported by the humps, sitting comfortably between them. Our camel man will take us to the sand-dunes. Visit to Nomads Family. Interaction with local nomads.  
After dinner time, we will explore the area, climbing one of the dunes affords the energetic traveler with an unforgettable experience of endless vistas across a sea of daffodil-colored sand. The dunes extend for 185 kilometers and include dunes that can reach 80 meters in height. Stay overnight in a ger.



Day 5. Bayanzag / Walking.
Drive towards Bayanzag, a saxaul forest and area of red cliffs “Bayanzag” which have been formed from the erosion of the sand and rock over thousands of years. A lot of dinosaurs’ findings such as skeleton & dinosaur’ eggs have been found there. Before reaching Bayanzag,  The Flaming Cliffs themselves are very imposing from a distance, and are particularly fiery in the light of the setting sun, and it is an interesting place to wander around to get a closer look at one of the world’s most famous paleontological sites.



Day  6 . Ongi monastery ruins 
Drive to Ongi monastery. Discover the ruins of Ongi monastery and its site. There is a ger museum which contains items found in the site of monastery that was actively operating until 1939. Nature in this area is beautiful with rocky mountains, Ongi river and trees. It is also a  good spot for bird watching. . Hiking to the rocky mountains is optional.​





Day 7. Karakorum 
 In the history, the city of Karakorum was founded in 1220 in a valley named the Orkhon, at a busy point on the route of the Silk Road which is in the first large break in the chain of mountains. Karakorum was the center of the Great Mongolian Empire until Khubilai Khaan moved his capital to Beijing. Also, you will see the monastery of Erdene Zuu which was built in 1586. 





Day 8. Driving back to UB


Accommodation: nomadic family ger, tourist camp, camping

Meal: B+L+D if  you are a vegetarian, we will arrange vegetarian food.

Transportation: Russian van, jeep, and other
